Lumio is an AI-powered accessibility banking platform that ensures every customer — regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive ability — can access and use banking services with dignity and independence. Deployed as an adaptive kiosk solution in bank branches, Lumio serves customers with visual, motor, hearing, and cognitive disabilities through a suite of assistive technologies, including a multilingual AI teller, biometric authentication, sign language interpretation, and a fully adaptive user interface. Lumio enables financial institutions to meet their accessibility obligations, expand their addressable market, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to financial inclusion.
Platform Architecture

Lumio is a tightly integrated hardware and software solution. The Kiosk Hardware is purpose-built with a large, high-contrast touchscreen, a camera array for facial recognition and sign language capture, a high-quality microphone and speaker system, and a card reader. The Adaptive Kiosk Interface is a software layer that dynamically adjusts the UI — including font size, colour contrast, layout, and interaction modality — based on the active user’s accessibility profile. The Multilingual AI Teller is a conversational AI engine capable of understanding and responding in multiple spoken languages and in sign language via a rendered avatar. Biometric Authentication handles secure login via facial recognition or voice recognition. A Live Teller Dashboard allows remote human agents to take over a session and assist a customer via video call when the AI cannot resolve a query.

A dynamically configurable user interface that adjusts font size, colour contrast, button layout, and input methods based on the customer's pre-registered or in-session accessibility profile, supporting five distinct disability profiles.

Biometric Authentication

Enables secure, password-free login using facial recognition or voice recognition, removing the barrier of remembering PINs and passwords for customers with cognitive or motor impairments.

Multilingual AI Teller

An AI-powered virtual teller that conducts natural, conversational interactions in multiple spoken languages and in sign language via an animated avatar, providing a consistent and empathetic service experience.

Live Teller Dashboard

A remote dashboard that allows human tellers to monitor kiosk sessions, receive escalation requests, and seamlessly take over a session via video call to assist customers with complex queries.

Sign Language Interpretation

Real-time capture and interpretation of sign language input from the customer, enabling deaf and hard-of-hearing customers to communicate naturally with the AI teller.
